Do you need coffee?

Today I wanted to show you a mini pocket scrapbook layout that I made using the Need Coffee set that was released at The Greeting Farm this month.
When I scrapbook I like to switch up all of the pages. So one page will be a 12x12 layout, the next will be a 12x12 but with different sized pockets, the next page might be just a mini shaker or a short page. This is one of the short pages. I not only scrapbook photos, but also things that just make me coffee. I had a Simple Stories filler card that I especially liked, then found the Game of Thrones joke that I printed from Pinterest, and then decided to  make my own filler card that was coffee related. Not only does this mini layout symbolize several things I love, but also it documents my time on The Greeting Farm as a DT member. It makes me happy.  =)

I simply colored up the girl image from the set and glued the little cup onto her hand. The sentiment below her is also from that stamp set.
Pick it up today:

See you on the farm! lol

American Heroes!

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I have a sneak peek for you...are you ready? It's a new stamp set called American Heroes by The Greeting Farm! I know there are TONS of military families out there that would love to get their hands on this set, but even if that doesn't apply to you, you can make cards for your friends or family that are in the military too! I sent one of the cards that I will show you below to my Grandfather for Memorial Day because he served in the Navy. I told my Grandmother that I sent it out, she seemed so touched and thought that he would be happy to receive some acknowledgement for his service.  The set will be available on May 20th and comes with characters with different uniforms plus sentiments. Oh! And has a coordinating die set! You can click the link above and go straight to TGF after you check out my cards!  =)

Have a great one!

This first card is a shaker card...this is the one that I sent to my Grandfather. It has the little sailor on the front (the set comes with a female sailor as well), a sentiment and then I added red, white and blue paper and sequins....I even found some anchor paper for inside the shaker pocket and on the inside of the card. It's amazing what you can find in your stash!

This next card is a more basic card, but I cut a stitched rectangle out of the front of the card. I placed one of the characters on the front, the other is on the inside of the card along with two of the sentiments.

It’s the 15th, and that means RELEASE DAY for the new May stamp sets! We have been previewing the new sets over the past few days and now they are available to purchase at the shop!

To celebrate, we are having a BLOG HOP, where one lucky fan will win these sets for their very own! Yay!

Be sure to leave a comment on each designer’s blog,  then head back to The Greeting Farm Blog to let us know that you completed the hop. You have until Thursday 5/18 at 12pm CST to leave your comments. We will announce the random winner later in the week!

I made two exploding box cards using two of the new release sets! This first set is Best Day Ever.  I am new to making these types of cards and I have to say, they are addictive! I loved how this one came out, with all of the characters in front like a busy carnival and then all of the different elements in back of them and a bit higher like they are floating in the background. So fun!

The next exploding box card was made using Baby Laundry. It has a completely different feel to it, with softer colors, little paper pieced outfits in florals and hearts. You can change a card so much just by changing the colors and backgrounds.

Our wonderful design team!!!! Happy hopping, everyone!    CAROL (Hey, that's me!)           JESSIE     THE GREETING FARM BLOG

Baby Laundry at The Greeting Farm on the 15th of May!

Hello there!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Were you looking for a sneak peek? Yep...I've got one for you! Today I want to show you a new stamp set that will be landing in the shop on May 15th called Baby Laundry. It's ADORABLE! It comes with both sentiments and little items you'd find in the laundry if you had a little one, plus stars and a cute little bunny and more. These little clothing items are SO fun to color but imagine them paper pieced too! I'll be doing that for a card that I'm working on, I'll show you that in the blog hop so please come back on the 15th!

You don't have babies any longer? I know, I thought that too. But THEN I remembered that even though my kids are 17 and 19, I still have some baby photos to document. THEN I remembered that my husband was just given a bunch of baby photos of his kids when they were little and THOSE need to be documented. Also, I'm redoing my husband's baby book because it's literally falling apart. Oh and I am expecting grand children! Well...not NOW but someday! lol lol So yes, even though you might not have a baby, you can find a lot of uses for this stamp. By the way, pick up the coordinating die, it's going to make your life so much easier because these onesies are little!
You're welcome. lol
Big hugs~

In case you wondered, this is my son Ryan who is now 17, in high school, driving, has a job and is a fire fighter explorer. Yet I still remember this photo shoot like it was yesterday. Time flies. It really does.

A new hobby....

I can cook. I can bake.  Quite well, actually. You know what I'm not that great at, however? Decorating desserts. For a very long time now I've been wanting to teach myself how to decorate cakes and cupcakes and other desserts. My desserts always TASTE amazing but obviously I want them to look appealing as well.

I decided to begin. Finally! I thought that I'd document it here, even though my blog isn't really read by more than a few people. lol But it's ok, I have somewhere to show my progress. It's for me, really. And you, if you happen to be reading this.   =)

I make some delicious chocolate cupcakes and frosting. Heavenly. I thumbed through a cupcake idea book and decided to try something that I thought wouldn't be ~too~ complicated....butterflies made out of chocolate. A simple technique is a little more complex when the decorating doesn't come naturally but I tried. They were delicious. They were sort of cute from a distance. I gave some to the neighbors,  who didn't comment on what they looked like but were happy to get the treats so I'll take that for now. In the future, however, I'm hoping for a "wow" or "OMG that's so cute, did you really do that?!" That's how it goes in my head, anyway.

Here are a few photos. Be gentle...I'm a beginner, remember.
Until the next treat!

My son said they were delicious....

The Greeting Farm's BLOOM set is featured today!

Hello Greeting Farm fans! Today I have an altered cocoa can to share with you. I spray painted a used cocoa can with gold spray paint, then I Copic colored up some images from The Greeting Farm's BLOOM collection set, which I'm obsessing over lately. Next I chose some ephemera from Crate Paper's Oasis collection that I thought would coordinate well with the images that I chose. I used one coat of Mod Podge beneath the images, and two coats on top. The whole project came together very quickly once the images were colored.
I hope you enjoy this project!

Until next time!
Carol xo

Now for some photos!
