Scents of Home room sprays!

I was recently asked by Pea, who makes these wonderful room scents, to review them for her. I was happy to do so and I'd like to report that they are a hit! I received Vanilla Velvet, Grandma's Kitchen and Candy Cane. I've tried all of them and really love how fragrant they are, and the scent does last quite a long time, in my opinion. I have all of the information below if you'd like to check them out for yourself. And by the way...they are REALLY AFFORDABLE!

Shake it!

Hello!
I finally got on the bandwagon and started making shaker cards! If you want to see a video about me telling you basically what I'm about to tell you, then head over to my channel.

I picked up these Shake It accessories from Art Attack Supplies, they made my life much easier. Once I figured out how to use them....this required a lot of chit chat with my two besties. For some reason I was trying to make it a LOT harder than it actually was.

I also used the new Dear Lizzy paper called "Documentary" which is the cutest paper!

I had a die cut prepared to go, I cut them ahead of time for my convenience, and this one was the correct color so I scored there...a nice little thank you on top with some hemp twine from Lawn Fawn that I picked up at Not2shabbyshop.

Inside the shaker bubble is home made enamel dots and Heidi Swapp acetate stars. I like how this card turned out but I have some pretty fun ideas for more cards. Remember, this was my first attempt so I was trying to figure out how to do it. I think I've got it now, be prepared...there will be more shakers on my blog soon!

So I started making holiday cards already....

....but those of you that watch my You Tube channel know that I've been prepping for Christmas the ENTIRE year. It's not sneaking up on me again!

http://www.youtube.com/user/OneHappyCraftyChick

I have a range of cards here for the upcoming holiday season that I made using stamps from The Greeting Farm, which has been one of my all time favorite stamp companies for  YEARS. The first cards are more simple. Card bases, strip of paper down the middle, a Spellbinders die cut and Greeting Farm images (Cuddly Thanks and Let it Snow) and some Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes with glitter paper.

I made a few of these but they were all the same so I just photographed one. I spray painted a corrugated cardboard base and added a layer of die cut snowflake paper. A few layers of paper on the front, more of the Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes with bling in the center, a variety of flowers that were glitter blasted, and of course the Greeting Farm polar bear image. BAM! Done.

That polar bear makes me crazy happy!

I'll be using him more in the future....stay tuned!

Sharing two layouts and how I make them represent me with silly touches.

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing some layouts that I made this week using the Pink Paislee paper stack called "Atlas", along with goodies from my stash. Really random goodies. Lots of them. In this first layout I was documenting my son's football injury. I have lots of layers of that yummy Pink Paislee paper as a base and to back up my photo. From there I just started layering on wood veneer, puffy stickers, My Style Stamps enamel dots, Simple Stories frames and random chipboard pieces and stickers. It's super random but I like it.

In this second layout I was documenting my husband's out of town job last month. Again I used the same Pink Paislee "Atlas" paper that I am obsessing over. I purchased it at Michael's last week and I just can't stop using it. It's going to be one of those stacks that doesn't hang around in my stash for years....it's going to be used up before the end of the year. I'll bet you.

In addition to the Pink Paislee paper I used two different types of Thickers, a variety of label stickers, Recollections enamel dots and some Crate Paper chipboard pieces. I like this layout so much, I think, because it totally represents "us".

Scot sends me photos when he goes out of town, he's been going South a lot and this particular job was near the beach. Since they were going to be gone for a while it was actually cheaper for his boss to rent them a house instead of a hotel. Did I mention it was a beach house? I was a little bitter. Anyway, this photo was of the ocean near his beach house & work.

In this photo you can see the close ups of a few Thickers, stickers, sparkly enamel dots and Crate Paper chipboard pieces.

We also FaceTime. A lot. In this photo we were Face Timing and I was laughing because where the box was on the screen, when he turned his head it looked like he was looking right at me. So I told him to look up and make a silly face and then I took a screen shot. SUPER unflattering picture of me but that's ok....it makes it more funny to me anyway.

One thing I REALLY love doing in my layouts or Project Life is printing out snippets of text messages. I feel like texting is, you know, trendy I guess and I think it's a fun way to document funny things that we say to each other. This particular text was from my brother in law, Kevin, who happens to co own the company that my husband works for. He has been sending my husband out of town a lot recently so each time he does, I send him a 'sad face' emoticon. EVERY TIME he sends me a question mark....like he doesn't get it yet that I do this every time? I guess not. So in response to his question mark I said that I miss my husband. His sarcastic response...you can read that for yourself. (Jason is one of the guys who works for my husband....I assure you they are NOT spooning. LOL) In response to that I sent him a 'mad face' emoticon. He deserved it.

Well, that's it. What do YOU do to make your layouts more...."you"? We can all add embellishments that we buy and add our photos, but what sort of spin do you put on your layouts to make them truly represent you? Let me know!

Talk to you soon!
