Paper Issues "Seas the Day" with October Afternoon! *multiple entries found here*

Are you playing along with the current link party at Paper Issues? This one is called "Seas the Day" and the sponsor is October Afternoon. Yay! I will be posting multiple entries in this blog post. But first....

You can click that link above to play along!

Here is what I came up with so far, and I have to say that even though you ARE allowed to use old projects, I never do. I made these two layouts in the last couple days and plan to make more. First of all, this issue allows you to link up anything pool/beach/summer/vacation/swimming related and's summer! All we do is swim and go to the beach and have fun all summer long so that's right up my alley. And two, I just ordered the two new summer collections from Paper Issues, Simple Stories Summer Vibes and Crate Paper's Poolside. Perfect! I was going to play with them anyway so how perfect is that?

I just took one photo of the first layout. It's a photo of my son and husband at Panther Beach a couple weekends ago. It looks kind of busy but most those elements on the right are actually printed on the page. I did add more though....gotta use all the things!!! lol Right?

This next layout has a story, don't they all? This one needs a little explanation though, otherwise most of you will be scratching your head. Matthew McConacave? While we were at Panther Beach my son was exploring, as he does. He came upon a cool little cave and immediately claimed it for himself. I was a little put off by the amount of empty juice boxes that someone had left behind in there but that didn't deter my son, he just pushed them out of the way and continued on. This particular beach was windy. You don't understand. WINDY. With all caps. I took a shower when I came home and I still had sand in my hair. For a week. And in my ears. No matter how much I bathed. Just that must have been the angle that it was located or something but I've never experienced that before, it was odd. Anyway, that cave provided some relief from that wind, which is probably why he liked it so much. We must name everything, it's just one of those things we do....and he dubbed this cave "Matthew McConacave." lol He cracks me up.

Anyway...lots of those summer collection elements that I was telling you about plus some random yellow enamel dots and white Thickers. And yes, I hate it when I run out of caps/lowercase/vowels and have to mix it up. But what can you do? Just move on, am I right?

Check back, I feel like I'll have more to add shortly!
Have a great day!

Purging, rearranging, reorganizing the CRAFT ROOM!

As anyone who follows me on You Tube can tell you, my craft room  has gone through a lot of changes over the last couple years. I am forever redecorating, purging, rearranging and reorganizing. And I love it! Over the past week hubby just tore out my closet and put in a new shelf and almost all of my cubes, bought more cubes, put them together, bought a few more for outside my was a PROJECT. It literally gave me anxiety but it's all good. Now. lol *whew* Care for some photos?

From this angle, not too much has changed. I did smoosh together my Cricut cartridges (on the left) to make room for some decorations and books that had to be relocated. Other than that, things are basically the same here.

Here is the view from just slightly to the left...those bears and books were on some cubes on the opposite side of the room that are now in my closet, the books were in the closet but there was no longer room. The other decorations were also on the cubes on the other side of the room. Just a little rearranging is all.

Let's see. Because of the lighting you probably can't see it but I'll post the video links at the bottom of the page so you can watch, if you'd like, the basket on the right has been purged and decorated. Yeah, you can't see it in this picture too well, sorry about that. Also the jars on the shelves have been emptied of the things I didn't use and I added other things. Things I hopefully WILL use!

You'd have to see my video of the 'before' to see what it looked like because I didn't take still photographs of that. But you can see the Recollections storage cubes that I added. Some of them were outside of my closet against the wall and others were just purchased.

I REALLY thinned out my Thicker collection and embellishments that I don't ever touch. Lots more room to grow now! I also have less cubes on that wall now. I thought at first that I would buy more to fill up that area like it was BUT I am also thinking....adorable decorative yet functional chair for guests?

See, I have room on either side of those cubes for a cutesy chair! What do you think?
Oh, and did you notice that I changed my bubble gum machine? I painted it white and put seashells inside. (Prepping for our beach move in a few years!)

A more close up view of my jars and embellies.  =)

You can see the trim basket a little better in this photo. Or not.

Here is the left side of the closet. Cubes, cubes, cubes.....

Here is the link to my You Tube video for the first part of this project. I will link up part two as soon as it is posted online!

"Mist-er Fix-It" Link party for Paper Issues! (layout entry) **UPDATE**

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I have a layout to share with you that I'm entering into the Paper Issues Link Party. The issue is called "Mist-er Fix-It".  I'm providing the link below so that you can play along with me, if you'd like!

I am working on depleting my stash. I have to say, I don't think I'm EVER going to use it all. And, by the way, the minute I sell some things on e bay I'm going to buy the entire Summer Vibes collection because I have to have it. Which is probably why my stash never goes down. I want it all! Anyway, the items that I used in this layout are all super random. And yes, by the way, I did ask my husband if it was ok if I used that nutty photo of him on my blog. He SO doesn't care, really. lol This photo of my hubby and son was taken at The Lazy Dog, which is a restaurant that we love in Dublin. We were having lunch on Mother's Day.

Do you like process videos? I have one on my You Tube channel for this layout, if you'd like to check it out. Here's the link to that:

I have some Carta Bella polka dotted paper as my base, a wooden thumb tack from Michael's, some vellum DCWV pieces and portions of journaling cards as embellishments.

I also used the back of some paper from my stash that I kind of hate, but the back is just plain craft so I cut that out with a decorative edge blade, and layered some colored corrugated cardboard on top. I have wooden dots, enamel hearts, and photo stickers from Simple Stories.

If you have an eye for detail, you might have picked up that netting that I have layered between the papers as well. That's a random bag that I cut up. Nothing goes to waste around here! lol I also have some aqua mist sprayed randomly around the layout from Heidi Swapp. More stickers, polaroids.....

....wood veneer cameras. I wasn't holding back!

Thank you for stopping by! I really would love some comments if you have a moment. Blogging is kind of lonely, isn't it?  =)

Have a great day!!!! Big hugs!

Guess what? I was featured on June 12, 2015. Yay!!!!

Guess what? I WON!!!
I'm so excited!!! Thank you to Paper Issues and Fancy Pants for the opportunity and prize package! YAY!

Here is a photo of what I won! So happy, thank you!!!

I LOVE printer's trays!

Oh how I love printer's trays! Have you tried them? Several companies make them and they are easy to find. The price varies depending on if you want them 'raw' or finished, large or brand or generic. I have tried the unfinished ones to save some money but really, I find that I prefer the ones that are already painted. I just like the effect so much more and, let's be honest, it saves some time. This printer's tray is my all time favorite. I've made quite a few but this one just does it for me. It's currently hanging on my scrapbook room wall and it makes me smile every time I walk in the door. I chose to print all of the photos in black and white, and then add subtle pastel colors from the Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper Open Book collection. That collection made me crazy! In a good way, I mean, lol! I bought ALL of it and I talked about it so much that two of my friends bought me nearly every bit of it as well so I had it in triplicate. I don't mind telling you, it's almost all gone. The paper is long gone, I have a couple stickers and a few of those embellies left and that's it. I saved every little tiny scrap...I kid you not when I say that I used the heck out of it like no other collection I've ever had. Anyway, the printer's tray has chipboard, card stock and vellum pieces all throughout the tray. I wanted the edges of the frame to have a little interest so I added gold striped washi here and there. I have tags, twine and a little metal as well. I'm itching to make another one soon.

What types of projects do you like to do the best? Let's say...OTHER THAN scrap booking? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great day!
