December Daily, Days 12-21

This post is going to be pretty photo~heavy, just so that you know.  I am starting today with page 12 of my December Daily. It's a two page spread with a photo page protector in the center.

I love the pockets for photos, but I love even more adding fun sequin mixes to the pockets and closing them with my fuse tool.

Here is a layout documenting a day out with family and friends to Santana Row for shopping and food.

I love these acetate dividers, they are so cute!

A little tag page that I decorated on one side and used the back to journal. I didn't photograph the journaling because I was basically complaining about how I gave my neighbors gifts and they didn't even smile or say thank you, they just looked confused. It annoyed me.

In this pocket page I documented a design team project that I made for The Greeting Farm for January, the neighbor gifts in the middle pocket and a layout that I made in the last pocket for another Design Team call.

In this fold out page I documented my son's football banquet. I had to cover up a lot on this page to protect our privacy...sorry about that!

On the days where there just isn't much to talk about, I add in things like photos of my snuggly kitties because who doesn't love that?

Another banner type tag page that I added a coffee cup and some hearts to for decoration.

Another few days with not too much going on, I document my new Keurig machine and some silly selfies that I had taken on another day with my husband.

My husband was out of town a lot in December. On this page I documented our silly Face Time sessions and journaled a lot on the back of that fold out element by Simple Stories from the Claus & Co. line.

More slow days....a good time to highlight some holiday happy mail!

Just a filler page...I used lots of Christmas Wishes by Pink Fresh Studios for this one.

The layout on the 21st shows the light show in Livermore that we attend every year as one of our traditions.

I am finished with my DD, I just need to take a few more photos and my DD series for the blog will be done! Stay tuned for more!

December Daily, Day 9, 10 & 11.

It's time for a December Daily update! I will tell you, I've struggled to keep up the past few days. Today is the 18th and the last few days...ugh....not even sure what I'm going to document and did I take notes? Nope. Oops. It happens to the best of us!

Day 9...I started my holiday baking with the intent of baking the things that we would be giving out. I made a big ol' batch of Snickerdoodles and those were perfect. Then I tried this other type of cookie with a piece of Snickers in the middle that I've never tried before. They spread all over the pan...no clue why. My husband ate them anyway and said they tasted great but there was no WAY that I was going to put them in the giveaway pile. So that's the funny picture on the bottom right, me with my flat cookie.

For day 10 I used an interactive embellishment from Simple Stories. It's this adorable little booklet where you can flip the pages and fit ALL KINDS of details and such inside. I definitely will be picking more of those up again.

Day 11...a  pretty simple page. I printed out my photos small and backed them up on Claus & Co. paper (from Simple Stories) and then simply added stickers, a filler card (same collection) and journaled right on the page next to each photo. It's pretty basic but I like it.

Now you're caught up. I'd love to see some of your pages! Let me know if you are doing a DD too!

December Daily, December 4, 5 & 6!

Moving along with my December Daily, I start with day 4 where I document a new drink at Starbucks called the Holiday Spice Flat White. OH MAMMA! Man, is it delicious! The page is on another tag page, the last of them, I think. I added scrap papers from my stash, some embellishments from Pink Fresh Studios Christmas Wishes, & some American Craft gold Thickers.

I used the coffee sleeve from my drink to make a pocket but gluing the bottom together. Then I put my photo on one side, added a tab and journaled on the back of the card. I also added my beloved Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes in gold, and a label sticker.

For day 5 I took a photo of my daughter, who was attending a wedding. I placed it onto some scrap paper from my stash and cut both the photo and the paper out with the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles. I really like the way that it makes a simple cut look finished. I added Heidi Swapp acetate pieces around the page, along with the number 5 and also a little stitched banner above her head. I'm not sure who makes that, I've had it in my stash for a while.

The back.....

For Day 6 I documented Paper Issues, which is an online store that I have been trying to score a DT position for quite some time now. They are having another DT Call so I documented some things from their FB group and one of the layouts that I'm making for the call.

I have a typo in my journaling....it's been fixed. lol

Ok....until next time!

December Daily, December 2 & 3!

Yes, for those of you paying attention I am working a head a bit. I am NOT picky at all about documenting precisely what goes on every single day of the month. I'm more interested in getting it all documented in the binder. So if I have some slow days, that's a great time to document favorite holiday movies and such.

That was exactly the case for days 2 & 3.

Day 2 I documented our holiday shopping, which was done back in November but I don't care. I still wanted it documented and I was loving the mix of old and new products to play with! Lots of fun acetate pieces from Heidi Swapp and the new delicious holiday collection from Pink Fresh Studios. Those colors, by the way, go great with my non traditional colored album!

I finally used up those gold bows that I've had in my stays, along with Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes that I cut with sparkly glitter paper....and that gold frame WAS a bare wood frame from Recollections, I just spray painted it gold and then sprayed it again with glitter paint.

Page three was FUN! I documented the holiday movies that we've seen so far this week, Elf and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I used an acetate pocket to store everything in, made a cute tassel for the top of the tag page, which I've never done before, and printed images from the internet for the movie clips.

One of the cards that go into the pocket, random journaling cards and scrap paper from my stash, puffy stars from Pink Fresh Studio and that reindeer is from Hobby Lobby.

This would be the B side of one of those cards, a movie clip printed from the internet and lots of stickers!

More journaling, more puffy stickers and on the bottom is a wood veneer reindeer from My Style Stamps. I spray painted it gold, then again with glitter gold, then added red stickles to his nose.

This is definitely my favorite page so far!

Stay tuned, more to come!

December Daily 2015. Day one.

One of my favorite holiday projects is the documenting of December. Although they take a lot of time out of an already busy month, with a little prep work and some thought out pages, you can have a wonderful record of your entire month each year. This is my third DD so far.

I started with a Heidi Swapp album that I've had for a few years now. It is NOT a holiday album, so I had to think of some paper collections that would go with the pre printed pages. There are plenty of them out there though...no worries. I decorated the cover of my DD at the end of LAST YEAR. Yes, I was prepping early! I did a little something for Christmas all year long, if you follow my You Tube channel, and I felt like it helped me a lot come December. My shopping was finished, my house was decorated, my cards are stamped, signed and addressed and a lot of my DD was prepped as well. It helps! Anyway, here is the cover.

The inside cover has a printable prompt from Pinterest. Trying saying that three times fast! There are days in December where all you did was go to Target, let's be honest. And do you really need to document that? Not really. Having a page of prompts helps you on those days when you just don't have much to document.

So here is day one and I'll tell you up front, my tree was decorated on Halloween. Yep. I know. So even though I didn't decorate on December 1, that is what I'm choosing to document on the first day. It's really ok, try to let go of having to have things exactly on the right day and all of that. It will only stress you out. Remember, ten years from now you're not going to look back and say, "Oh, I did NOT decorate that day, I went to Target. Liar!" That's not going to happen. I promise. lol

We always put up two trees, this one is in the family room. I have the gold Thickers for my numbers for each day, some goodies from Pink Fresh Studio and some Hobby Lobby items to help me decorate as well.

On the back of the first tag page I've journaled about the tree and added more embellishments. Journaling is important! Try to work it in as often as possible.

I'll be posting more DD blog posts. You can also follow me on You Tube where I have a December Daily play list and will be posting regular DD videos all through out the month!

Until later!

Shake it!

I finally got on the bandwagon and started making shaker cards! If you want to see a video about me telling you basically what I'm about to tell you, then head over to my channel.

I picked up these Shake It accessories from Art Attack Supplies, they made my life much easier. Once I figured out how to use them....this required a lot of chit chat with my two besties. For some reason I was trying to make it a LOT harder than it actually was.

I also used the new Dear Lizzy paper called "Documentary" which is the cutest paper!

I had a die cut prepared to go, I cut them ahead of time for my convenience, and this one was the correct color so I scored there...a nice little thank you on top with some hemp twine from Lawn Fawn that I picked up at Not2shabbyshop.

Inside the shaker bubble is home made enamel dots and Heidi Swapp acetate stars. I like how this card turned out but I have some pretty fun ideas for more cards. Remember, this was my first attempt so I was trying to figure out how to do it. I think I've got it now, be prepared...there will be more shakers on my blog soon!

So I started making holiday cards already....

....but those of you that watch my You Tube channel know that I've been prepping for Christmas the ENTIRE year. It's not sneaking up on me again!

I have a range of cards here for the upcoming holiday season that I made using stamps from The Greeting Farm, which has been one of my all time favorite stamp companies for  YEARS. The first cards are more simple. Card bases, strip of paper down the middle, a Spellbinders die cut and Greeting Farm images (Cuddly Thanks and Let it Snow) and some Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes with glitter paper.

I made a few of these but they were all the same so I just photographed one. I spray painted a corrugated cardboard base and added a layer of die cut snowflake paper. A few layers of paper on the front, more of the Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes with bling in the center, a variety of flowers that were glitter blasted, and of course the Greeting Farm polar bear image. BAM! Done.

That polar bear makes me crazy happy!

I'll be using him more in the future....stay tuned!
